AEV

Nothing much has been happening with my portfolio this month. So far, I have only made 8 transactions, mostly selling non-moving positions (CMT, JGS, CYBR and PIP). I have also failed to ride the mining+lopez rally coz I'm trying to limit the number of stocks that I hold. Good thing though that I was able to ride DMC and ICT trains. Today I was actually focusing on SECB but it failed to close above 100 so it got me turned off. Anyway, I noticed something different with AEV! Talk about forced closings. It got my attention plus my system had a buy signal so I got in at the close with a probe position - only 4% of my total port. If the move is wrong I'll simply cut it. Who knows, this baby may hit a new high soon.

I like it! Looks very promising especially on the weekly chart!

Yeah!! Maganda nga ang weekly chart!

Christina, HUWAG ubusin kaagad ha! Usually, pag nakikikita ko yung ticker ni ___ always buying up or selling down eh :p

@harley - my only concern are channel bands-- they don't look like they're priming up for a volatility expansion. Only trick I see for this to make a real go is if it breaks 42.50 then 43.70. Still, baka naman mali ako. Sayang eh, ganda ng price chart. :)

Hahahaha! Just looking lang naman, Gen. :)) Parang I like AP better... I see a low risk entry at current levels.

Harley,

If you don't mind, what's your fomula for your buy signal line (red line in your chart)?

Is it Low + N * ATR?

Harley Wong said...

Agree Gen. This could still move in a range bound manner but maybe, just maybe it will start to trend up in the next couple of weeks. :) I'll definitely buy more if it breaks 42.5 :D Ganda rin kasi ng weekly chart and tagal ko na tong hinihintay.

Hey Jun, I'm using a 20 day ATR with 2.5 volatility stop. Sa green naman I use 3x volatility. These are computed from closing prices.

na force close lower naman today. looks like i'm wrong calling this one out darn.

I'd stay with AP, its in the midst of forming a possible cup from the December highs.
Trade the possible ascending inverted scallop pattern from the march lows for now and if it confirms, we can follow it thru for the possible cup.

@cptrader re: the ascending inverted scallop: good eye! with TP 35-ish! Nice!

hi harley,
who are the new leaders now?

for the month of april, my impression is that the movers are dmc, ict and a little of the mining stocks. but i think their upmove might be finished.
the only remaining stock that i have a lot of is PNX
my usual favorites geri lr bel edc scc have been moving sideways
i have started testing the selling those stocks that are moving sideways or slightly down for more than two to three weeks. even if i have only a small profit or loss.( the price action might be telling me that i made a wrong entry.) but i am keeping small probe positions so that i can move back quickly when these stocks breakout again.
this move has increased my cash holdings to 35%
are these " leaders" telling us something? is there trouble ahead?
keep your expectations flexible, but your rules rigid.
